419 Scam Example: "NATIONAL SWEEPSTAKES / ROYAL FINANCIAL & SECURITIES SERVICES (MR.Trevor Baker, ROSEMARY WOODBRIDGE)"
"NATIONAL SWEEPSTAKES / ROYAL FINANCIAL & SECURITIES SERVICES (MR.Trevor Baker, ROSEMARY WOODBRIDGE)" are labels used in a fake lottery scam run by a gang in the UK and probably West Africa. This is a "419" fraud. The gang demands a fee of £3,950 for processing a claim for the non-existent lottery prize. Send us any replies by "claims agents", especially money demands and payment instructions, we will publish them here. Please forward copies of fraud emails to the abuse department of the webmail address listed as the contact email for the "claims agent" and ask for the address to be suspended because it is used in a 419 fraud (see 419 FAQ).
Example of initial "winning notification":
The winning numbers quoted are the actual winning numbers of the UK National Lottery on October 23, 2004 (not February 28, 2005). Here is a reply from "Mr. Trevor Baker" which includes a money demand:
